FMB & Lauder

The Farnam Memorial Building (FMB) at Yale University is located at 310 Cedar Street in New Haven, Connecticut. It is part of Yale School of Medicine's facilities and houses departments such as Pathology and Surgery, with conference rooms and auditoriums used for medical education and meetings.

Work Scope

Outdated AHUs and exhaust systems were upgraded to modern, energy-efficient air handling units with energy recovery heat exchangers. The result is improved HVAC performance, enhanced indoor air quality, greater energy efficiency, and reduced operating costs for the building.

Results

Macri was honored to be involved in this project, which built on three years of preconstruction services, including conceptual design and budgeting. The complex, multi-phase renovation included extensive infrastructure work and a laboratory fit-out.

Our early partnership with the construction manager and design team allowed us to eliminate the need for $500,000 in temporary equipment. This strategic move enabled the owner to invest in new equipment with zero downtime, ensuring uninterrupted operation across three floors of active lab spaces. This project highlights our expertise in planning and execution, delivering significant value through collaboration.
